The Desert Valley Orchid Society in Phoenix, Arizona, presents their annual orchid show this year at Baker Nursery, located at 3414 North 40th Street, on November 3 from 9am to 5pm and November 4 from 10am to 4pm.
Members of the orchid club will display their prized orchids. Admission is FREE.
The dry Arizona climate can make it challenging to grow orchids that bloom yearly. I collect Cattleya orchids and have found that members of the Desert Valley Orchid Society provide orchid growers like myself with an abundance of information vital when growing orchids in dry weather. This youtube video is a sample of information that orchid growers obtain during the orchid show.
The public will vote on the “Best Orchid”. Free demonstrations on growing, transplanting and caring for orchids will be held at 11am and 2pm each day. Best of all, orchid plants will be on sale. Hope to see you there!
